She graduated with a BA from the Royal Theatre Arts Academy in Utrecht, NL, with experience in theatre making and acting. From there, she went on to perform in classic and original works, some being her own original works, throughout the European professional theatre circuit, including the Dutch National Theatre, The Hague, The Rotterdam Schouwburg, De Balie & Gasthuis, Amsterdam, KVS/Bottelarij, Brussels, NEXT International Arts Festival, Kortrijk, The Schauspielhaus,Vienna, Theatre Intensive, Dartington and a site specific performance in Marseille with Jean-Michel Bruyere. Later, together with her husband Jorrit, she formed and was the artistic director of MOMENTA, a nonprofit organization based in the Netherlands, which completed several theatre projects in Central America, including a modern staging of the RABINAL ACHI, working with the young Mayan population. In 2009, she came back to the US, to be with her mother who had been diagnosed with a brain tumor. She spent nine months with her assisting her on her death journey. This experience changed her life drastically and she became fascinated by the 'miracle' of death. It has become one of her passions to help shift the consciousness of death in our culture. This is what inspired the creation of THE DEATH MONOLOGUES, which unites her two arbitrary passions, death and theatre. Along with performing, Giselle has also become very involved with death, working with and assisting others in many different ways such as being a death doula (a professional who supports and assists individuals and their families through death and dying), hospice work, end of life and grief counseling, and through ceremony and ritual. The Death Monologues is her original solo and a life's work. End
