Roswell Soccer Club and Future Stars Soccer Academy to Host Summer Soccer Camp

ATLANTA - April 22, 2015 - PRLog -- Future Stars Soccer Academy (FSSA) and Roswell Soccer Club (RSC) are pleased to announce they’ve partnered to provide an exceptional soccer camp experience to RSC players this summer, June 15-19, July 6-10 and July 13-17, at Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven, GA.

For more than 14 years, FSSA founders Jon Akin (current head men’s soccer coach at Oglethorpe) and Gilbert Jean-Baptiste have led high quality training sessions designed to equip aspiring soccer players with the technical, physical and mental tools to succeed.

All programs were created by former professional players and are taught by Future Stars staff with assistance from current and former college players. This level of professional expertise is what first attracted the leadership of RSC to the FSSA program.

“Future Stars Soccer Academy is a great second camp option for Roswell Santos players looking for additional training during the off-season,” said Mike Farnham, Roswell Director of Coaching. “Jon Akin has been a long-time coach at RSC and Oglethorpe, and the opportunity for our players to learn from him and his staff in the college environment at the university is fantastic. We are excited about how our players will benefit from the technical and tactical training the FSSA camps provide.”

An extra benefit of the partnership is that FSSA donates a portion of the summer soccer camp proceeds back to RSC to support scholarships for its members who require financial assistance to play the game they love.

About Roswell Soccer Club

The Roswell Soccer Club was formed in the late 1980s, evolving from the youth recreational soccer program started with 6 teams by the Roswell Recreation and Parks Department in 1976. Today, Roswell Soccer Club has 1,200 youth participants and provides a wide variety of programs for ages 2-18: Kiddie Kickers (2 & 3’s), World Cup (4 & 5’s), Recreational (6-18’s), Academy (7-11’s) and Select (11-18’s). The name ‘Santos’ has been used for the club since the development of the select program in honor of the team for which Pelé played for many years in Brazil – Santos FC.
