TAMPA, Fla. - April 27, 2015 - PRLog -- PPG is a pet industry organization that represents dog training and pet care professionals in over 26 countries, all of whom are committed to results-based, science-based, force-free training and pet care. From Pavlov’s dogs and renowned psychologist B.F. Skinner to more recent developments in the emerging field of educational neuroscience, human understanding of how animals learn continues to expand, evolve, fascinate and surprise. The new chapter will help PPG, also a leading web provider of information on force-free dog training and pet care methods andservices, educate the pet owning public regarding the differences in what is available to them when seeking dog training and pet care professionals.

PPGBI will be represented by PPG members in a number of locations throughout the British Isles region. The steering committee currently includes Claire Staines, Scotland; Denise O’Moore, Ireland; Carole Husein, Wales; and Stephanie Presdee and Louise Stapleton-Frappell, England.

“We are delighted that PPG is setting up a British Isles branch and are honored to play a key role in it,” said the steering committee in a joint statement. “These are very exciting times to be part of a membership organization committed to science-based, force-free training and pet care. The launch of PPGBI will generate yet more benefits for members, such as further training, an automatic global support network of peers and professionals, and access to a vast range of educational and marketing collateral. We feel privileged to be part of PPG at the beginning of an exciting era for force-free training.”

PPG is currently the only international professional pet industry member association that advocates for force-free dog training and pet care and requires that all members adhere to its guiding principles (http://ppgbi.com/GuidingPrinciples), which are also available to the public. Force-free, according to PPG, means that members will never employ shock, pain, fear, physical force, physical molding or compulsion-based methods when training or caring for a pet. As part of their quest to educate pet owners, PPG and PPGBI both offer free membership for pet owners as a resource tool.

“The pet industry continues to enjoy exceptional growth but is largely unregulated,” said PPG president and founder, Niki Tudge. “This can make it very difficult for people to understand the differences between the many training and pet care methods that are now available. Even the terminology used to describe various techniques can be confusing and misleading. We feel the pet owning public needs and deserves an educational resource to help them understand the differences between the various methods and techniques on the market. PPG clearly defines the philosophy its members operate under so pet owners can be confident that only force-free methods will be employed when training and caring for their pets.

“PPG members work according to the most recent scientific research and focus on the physical, mental, environmental and emotional well-being of each pet to ensure that each aspect of training and care contributes to the animal’s well-being,” said Tudge. “This is our holistic approach. These methods are incredibly effective, fun and, most of all, safe to use.”

PPG is holding its inaugural summit in Tampa, Florida from November 11-13, 2015 and expects to roll out more international chapters in the near future.
