Okaloosa County Schools Announces 2105 Commissioners Business Recognition Awards

 
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - April 29, 2015 - PRLog -- The Okaloosa County School District (OCSD) is pleased to announce its nominees for the 2015 Commissioners Business Recognition Awards Program.  The Commissioner's Business Recognition Awards (CBRA) recognizes businesses throughout Florida for their innovative partnerships and exemplary support of public education.

CBRA honorees will be recognized by Florida Department of Education Commissioner Pam Stewart at an award program during a reception from 5:00-6:30 p.m. on June 9, 2015 in Tampa, FL.

The OCSD has nominated the Air Force Armament Museum Foundation and the Chick fil A franchises in Niceville and Fort Walton Beach for their service to the school district.

“The Okaloosa County School District is thankful for the contributions made by the Air Force Armament Museum Foundation in advancing the educational opportunities for STEM education by providing funding and academic support from contributors such as AFRL, NDEP, local businesses and defense contractors, UWF, Embry Riddle, NWFSC and the Doolittle Institute”, said Superintendent Mary Beth Jackson.

Over 6,000 Okaloosa County elementary and middle school students have participated in the Engineers for America Program, which is specifically designed to motivate young students towards STEM type careers, and we look forward to more great things in the future.
