Cooking with Beer Demonstrations Return to the NoVa Summer BrewFest, Sat.& Sun., June 20 & 21

CENTREVILLE, Va. - May 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Cooking with Beer Demonstrations return to the NoVa Summer BrewFest

Saturday & Sunday, June 20th, & 21^st at 1, 2:30 & 4pm

Guiding Knife Certified Executive Chef, Joe Mariano will be returning this summer with new “cooking with beer” recipes to wow the BrewFest crowd. Chef Joe will be using beer brewed locally by our presenting sponsor Mad Fox Brewing Company in all of his recipes. Chef Joe will be preparing Creamy Polenta with seared scallops and braised greens, Chicken and Lentil Beer Balls, and the new classic, the “American” Dip Sandwich.  Guests will be able to watch the demonstrations, sample one of his recipes, and ask questions.  Chef Joe describes his creamy polenta with seared scallops and braised greens as “what happens when an Italian kid joins the military and gets sent to Georgia.  It’s my take on shrimp and grits. With the chicken and lentil beer balls, I have created a combination of Indian Koftas and Swedish Meatballs and for the American Dip Sandwich, instead of slicing the beef we are shredding it and we’ve used our star ingredient (beer) in the Au Jus.”

The “Cooking with Beer” demonstrations are just part of the fun at the 8^th Annual Northern Virginia Summer BrewFest that takes place in a new location this year, Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville, VA. The focus for the NoVa Summer BrewFest will be spring and summer seasonal brews from a large array of breweries with some added meaderies and cideries in the mix. There will be more than 50 microbrews from across the country, with a nice representation from the local DC Metro area that has seen an explosion in the opening and establishment of microbreweries.
