Trad's Garden Center of Jacksonville, Florida Holds Saturday Community Market During Summer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - May 29, 2015 - PRLog -- Trad’s Garden Center, a family owned business that has been selling gardening products and landscaping services in the Southside/Mandarin area for over 40 years, is hosting a community market on Saturdays during the summer months.

The market is open every other Saturday (next market is June 6) from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 8178 San Jose Boulevard.

Vendors include businesses such as From The Ground Up, who sells a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables; Two Sisters Handcrafts, who sells hand-made jewelry and painted duck eggs; Justin Sikes Construction, who designs and builds custom stone structures; and several bakery vendors.

“We are just beginning to grow the market,” reported Denise Wartan, the family manager for Trad’s Garden Center. “It seems that everywhere in Jacksonville you can find a farmers’ or community market, except in the Mandarin/Southside area.

“We have a perfect venue for a community market on the west end of our garden center in a nice garden setting. So we are developing a unique outdoor shopping experience for smaller business and entrepreneurs to sell vegetables, bakery items and arts and crafts to the public,” Wartan added. “As we continue, we are working to add some food trucks, beekeepers and additional activities for the kids.”
