Follow on Google News | ![]() New HD Barcode Supermarket Label identifies Allergens, GMO’s & Ingredients from Country of OriginAll product information is embedded directly into the HD Barcode allowing consumers to scan and read using a Smartphone or store provided reader. Consumers can instantly identifying if a product contains allergens or genetically modified (GMO) ingredients. Also available are custom Smartphone applications that can be programed to an individual or family member to flag ingredients containing personal allergens. Due to the immense amounts of data the HD Barcode can store, the same code can provide both a voice-readout of product ingredients, as well as directions-for- Food producers disagree about the amount of information that can be located within product labels and cartons. Also, that it is next to impossible to keep information current due to the variety of different supplier locations. Utilizing the HD Barcode, a food label can be created containing information such as; ingredients, origin, product location, expiration dates, GMO’s, etc. Codes can be created at the manufacturing level then shipped along with manifest or at store level and applied to shelf label for consumer information. Recently, the United States Agriculture Department and the World Trade Organization (WTO) were in disagreement over placing information on products.
