TAU introduces BRICS - the new learning Platform at e-learning Africa 2015 conference

June 2, 2015 - PRLog -- The Executive Dean of Texila American University (TAU) reveals the new online teaching learning model [BBRRIICCSS] at the 10th e-learning Africa 2015 conference. Texila American University is one of the most inclusive Universities located in Guyana, South America.

e-Learning, the ongoing trend of the educational sector, is the most preferred educational platform in the sector today. Educational technology is not just restricted to high technology. The Executive Dean of TAU, Dr. Anand, had introduced the new online teaching learning model – BBRRIICCSS (also called as BRICS).

BBRRIICCSS  is a uniquely designed teaching learning activity designed for the Distance Learning Program. BRICS includes course materials uploaded in our exclusive learning platform, video lectures, E-resource, Open source ware, Podcast & Forum discussion. Students also receive constant faculty support throughout the course.

Through BRICS, students will get Intense and continuous faculty support; Modular based curriculum, which focuses on the core; Competency and skills; PPT for every Sub topics will be developed by the faculty members; 24X7 days support provided by the Student Coordinator; Participation in forum; Continuous and weekly assessment; Easy assessment mechanism and continuous feedback from the faculty members; Completion of a block in 8 weeks.

Using this Model it was observed that, the learning outcome was more than 85% as judged by the students themselves and more than 93% have agreed to recommend their friends to study with TAU and as well as the retention rate of the students was about 95% when compared to that of other countries [United states -64%, Germany – 72%, United Kingdom-84%, France- 55%].

BRICS is a comprehensive model which includes technology and learning methodology to make learning effective and long lasting. TAU believes that any university intending to optimize the learning of the students and as well as retain 95% of the students throughout the course may opt to BBRRIICCSS teaching learning model.
