CGR to Evaluate Rochester AmeriCorps Program

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - June 17, 2015 - PRLog -- CGR has been engaged by Rochester AmeriCorps to develop an evaluation that will capture the impact of the current program and point the way toward future improvements.

As part of the project, CGR will conduct a detailed process review of the partnership between the Rochester AmeriCorps program and the Rochester City School District, including both an evaluation of the partnership’s initial implementation and its perceived impact on program participants. This formative assessment is intended to help structure Rochester AmeriCorps planning and evaluation in future years.

CGR will conduct interviews and focus groups with AmeriCorps members and site supervisors, and incorporate results from surveys AmeriCorps is undertaking. That information will serve as basis for working with the program’s leadership on a refined logic model and theory of change spelling out the inputs, outputs, activities, outcomes and measures of the program, and outlining how the program will bring about the desired impacts.

AmeriCorps is a national service program offering opportunities for individuals to serve their country through community service. In Rochester, 45 AmeriCorps members are working in 12 Rochester schools as well as community-based pre-collegiate programs. Members provide enrichment activities, mentoring, tutoring, intensive student support, and college prep services during and after school. Rochester AmeriCorps is sponsored by Monroe Community College.
