ABS-CBN Sports + Action now available worldwide via TFC

June 18, 2015 - PRLog -- The Filipino Channel (TFC) formally welcomes ABS-CBN Sports + Action in its worldwide roster of premium channels this month to provide more male-oriented content including action-packed TV programs and movies for overseas Filipinos (OFs) around the world to enjoy.

Taking the spot of BRO channel, ABS-CBN Sports + Action is a male-skewed channel that highlights sports and male entertainment, from high octane live events in the biggest sporting arenas to extreme sports in the outdoors, as well as exciting programs on leisure, action-packed movies, and laugh-out loud comedy programs.

ABS-CBN Sports + Action offers more content to answer the clamor of millions of OFs who, after a hard-day’s work, would want to sit back, relax, and enjoy their preferred content, true to its tag “Work Hard. Play Harder.”

ABS-CBN Global Content Head Ned Legaspi affirms that the purpose of the transition of the channel, aside from ABS-CBN’s thrust to be in the service of Filipinos worldwide, is to be aligned with the ABS-CBN Sports + Action channel in the Philippines in providing the niche market an action-filled entertainment. “We rolled out ABS-CBN Sports + Action worldwide to provide our valued subscribers with an escape from daily realities and a venue for self-expansion through content that will reward them for a hard day’s work, entertain them with choice content and provide new information that will help them discover their own life adventure.” Legaspi elaborated, “The channel is going to be every viewers’ high-power, high-energy channel that will provide adrenaline rush with action-packed sports programming, male-skewed entertainment, and male-interest features.”

With the transition, the channel also welcomes new programs and content which include: “Solo Hunters,” a reality TV program featuring the sport of hunting and which follows the adventures of hunters as they trail down wild animals; “Bounty Hunter,” another reality TV show about two professional bounty hunters in America and their adventures as they search the most wanted criminals in the country; “The Ultimate Ride,” a cinematic adventure series within the environment of extreme sports; “Wheels TV,” a program about high-end and luxurious cars hosted by Kapamilya actor and former race car driver, Matteo Guidicelli; iconic lifestyle program “Travel Time,” which was hosted by the late Susan Calo-Medina and is now hosted by Manu Sandejas; and the longest standing collegiate league of the Philippines, the “National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 91” which will be aired live on the channel starting June 27 (Saturday).
