A Father’s Day Gift Bag Fit For A King

LONG BEACH, Calif. - June 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Judge Mablean Ephriam celebrated the 13th Annual H.U.F. (Honoring Unsung Fathers) Awards & Scholarship Brunch on Sunday, June 21^, 2015, at the Westin Hotel in Long Beach, CA. The highly publicized event hosted by legendary comedian, George Wallace drew in a crowd of more than 500 guests and supporters.

Presenters included Renee Lawless of the Haves and Have Nots, Shari Headley of the Haves and Have Nots, Denise Boutte of Why Did I Get Married Too, Wendell James of Raising Whitley, Tamela Jones of Castle and Judge Kevin Ross of America’s Court with Judge Ross. The event featured special guest performances by jazz saxophonist Mike Phillips and multi-award winning gospel recording artist Tramaine Hawkins and was well attended more than 500 supporters of the Mablean Ephriam Foundation and celebrity friends.

Honorees include actor Flex Alexander who received the Founder’s Award and George Gibbs, Community Affairs Manager for UPS’s West Region received the Board of Director Award. Other categories in which father’s were awarded included: Solo Warrior (single father), Love Cares (married father), Fatherhood Forever (divorced father), Village Dad (non-biological father) and Living Legacy (father, grandfather, great-grandfather, etc.). Scholarships are provided for current year high school graduates adults between the ages of 25 to 40 who decided to go to college and those majoring in nursing, in honor of her deceased mother, Mable Ephriam.
