How would you feel if your boyfriend or girlfriend's family, came into your home after that loved one has died and kicked you out legally?, they take everything that you two owned, built, saved, purchased  and achieved? Including the rings off their finger.

Would you believe- this use to happen constantly to LGBT people- family has a way of showing their true feelings when money is involved, they think it belongs to them, legally the law allowed them to dismantle a home, and to rob the partner in their time of grief without remorse.

Many of us have witness this behavior, they smile in your face and secretly behind your back plan a secret agenda to attain everything, regardless of your emotional feelings and the years you spent with their blood relative, once death comes into that relationship, within hours the plan hatches.

Marriage equality protects this from happening, today the world has changed and evolved so much, people who love their brothers, sisters and close friends have moved away from religious zealots, and churches that preach negative sermons about their loved ones- it’s no longer the back woods sermon from the grandfather passed down to the son that people want to hear, people are listening more to the educated pastor with some type of degree that teaches a congregation an uplifting honest and respectful sermon bathed in love.

Marriage is not a religious ceremony for millions of people, and under the law, it has always been a legal contract between two people.

Scripture about fornication, silk, women speaking in public etc., has evolved.  “Pick and Choose”  will always be a way of life for almost anything in life, the neighborhood, the job, the friends, your spouse, your friends, your extended family, and the Bible.

To make life more safe & comfortable, you sometimes have to protest and fight it out in court, when you win- sometimes the victory is short lived. Others will feel the need to speak against you whatever the outcome, and will never except the verdict, so learn to live in your victory without the praise, use your praise in a belief you are true to, for some it will be GOD, and for others it will be the sweat off their own back.

The main issue has been based on FAIR & EQUAL treatment under the law, not so hard to understand once you know the history about how discrimination in marriage has been a part of history with slaves, and black the white couples.

I’ve always been a man of faith and I also realize that the people of faith can be the main haters, especially when they believe firmly about a fundamental opinion they have been taught by a generational preacher that has not evolved on love between same sexes.

The majority of black churches tried helping the Mormons and it failed. The LGBT minorities and the faith communities that we were brought up in now have become suspect, so do we stay or leave? Do we take our talents and income elsewhere to inclusive churches? Do we start our own churches? Yes we do all that, if your pastor does not in good faith make the congregation inclusive to LGBT people or at the very least embrace a victory that betters the lives of LGBT people, I suggest you find another place where you feel welcome.
