The exhibit will feature a wide range of mediums including collage, acrylic, oil paint, mixed media, and oil pastel. Other works for sale in the gallery range from hand-sewn pillows and dolls to silk scarves, stationery sets and notecards, and hand-crafted jewelry. Featured artists include Arts Unbound returning artists Amy Charmatz of Springfield, Kristen Zachares of Montclair, Theda Sandiford of Jersey City, Ronaldo Byrd of Burlington, Jason Towns of Whaeton, and Sheryl Yeager of Pittsburgh, PA. Artist Joseph Cardillo will be exhibiting at Arts Unbound for the first time, as well as Tanaya Stover, Timothy McGillivary, Alex Torres, Denisha Brown, and Gifford Moy of the Brooklyn-based art collective ArteMoose. The show will be on display through Saturday, September 5 during the gallery's regular operating hours. Arts Unbound is dedicated to the artistic achievement of people living with disabilities and seniors. They provide visual arts education and professional development to help emerging artists compete on the retail market. By promoting the work of artists with disabilities and seniors, Arts Unbound centers their art-making rather than any impairments and by doing so challenges the stigma associated with disability and aging. The gallery is located in the Valley Arts District at 544 Freeman Street, in Orange. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10am-4pm, Saturdays noon-5pm, and by appointment. www.artsunbound.org (Arts Unbound – 973-675-2787). End
