Follow on Google News | Saturn’s Child Publishing takes on Gloria Delamar’s Mother Goose Family Fun & Cookbook: Rhymes &An intergenerational cookbook with games and sing-a-longs, it is intended for parents, grandparents, nannies, or babysitters looking for ways to interact with the children in their care. Today’s busy adults look for ways to connect with their children, and everyone needs to eat. This book combines easy cooking with other fun activities. This is not a “picture book,” but the largest collection of Mother Goose recipes ever collected. For every Mother Goose rhyme that mentions food, the book has an easy recipe to go with it. Also incorporated are finger plays, tongue twisters, riddles, jump-rope and bounce-ball chants, knee-trotting verses, memory-verses, story-verses and other active games. It also includes additional bits of history about some of the rhymes to interest older children, parents and care givers who would be supervising. The recipes are truly easy, so that young people can really make them. Where "from scratch" would be frustrating, prepared foods are used as a base. Most of the recipes should also appeal to parents with little time to prepare elaborate cuisine. Though linked to Mother Goose rhymes, the foods are basically standard. Gloria T. Delamar is the author of eight nonfiction books: ● Children’s Counting-Out Rhymes, Fingerplays, Jump-Rope and Bounce-B all Chants and Other Rhythms: A Comprehensive English-Language Reference (a McFarland Pub. bestseller) ● Mother Goose: From Nursery to Literature ● Louisa May Alcott: Biography, Critique, Poems, Songs, and Contemporary Relevance ● Rounds Re-Sounding: Delamar has a degree in Early Childhood Education, is a former Kindergarten teacher and a mother of five.
