Why: As part of the annual running event that pits Buffalo area runners against Rochester area runners, the winning metro area will host the massive Metro 10 Cup. The race committee developed the unique design that incorporates both city skylines surrounding a cup. A local artist has been working on the cup for over two months and it will be unveiled publicly for the first time on Thursday in Rochester, the Metro with the most registered runners to-date.

About Metro 10 BUF v. ROC

On August 22, 2015 runners from all over Western New York and beyond will compete in a first of its kind competition that pits metropolitan areas against each other in a spirited challenge. The inaugural event starts at 10:00 a.m. in Albion New York, situated near the center of the two regions.

Whether runners grew up in Buffalo or Rochester, they choose which Metro they want to represent and help them proudly hold the title of fastest running community in Western New York as they hoist up the Metro 10 Cup!.

The event includes a massive post-race awards ceremony, a kids fun run and food offerings from both cities including the choice of Zweigles or Sahlen’s hot dogs, both of whom have sponsored the event along with Fleet Feet Sports in Buffalo and Rochester.
