By: CTC Aviation The B737-800W simulator - the highest specification RealitySeven™ Training on the B737 device will begin later this month and CTC Aviation has confirmed that the Norwegian Group have signed a five-year dry lease agreement – making them the first customer for the device. The new agreement will provide the airline with Boeing 737-800W simulator usage for its UK and Spanish based crews in order to support Norwegian’s expanding training requirements up to 2020. Captain Mike Redrupp,CTC Aviation’s Head of Training and Chief Operating Officer - Airline Training commented, “Our industry requires ever more pilots trained to the very highest standards. To meet this demand we are investing in the latest technology to ensure our pilots reach the exacting standards our customers require. As our business expands internationally, our customer requirements for all types of training activity continue to increase. We are, therefore, delighted to announce the latest addition to our comprehensive portfolio of airline training devices.” The new, modular simulator combines the highest levels of simulator fidelity including Windshear, IAN, TCAS, ATIS, EGPWS, WXR and choice of engine thrust; it is also fully airline configurable. CTC Aviation and L-3 Link UK have confirmed that the option for short field performance will be added within a few months. CTC Aviation was acquired by L-3 Communications on 27 May 2015. This acquisition expands L-3’s commercial aviation training portfolio that also includes L-3 Link UK - a provider of world-class flight training simulation devices to a growing portfolio of airline and third-party training company customers. CTC Aviation and L-3 Link UK will retain their individual brands and strengths as independent operational entities, while continuing to focus on and serve all their existing customers and markets. “Driven by a focus on the customer, quality, service and safety, this new partnership of world-class training devices and training delivery places L-3 Link UK and CTC Aviation in the unique position to provide customers with unrivalled training solutions whatever their requirements,” This latest investment complements an existing range of flight training devices distributed between CTC Aviation’s Crew Training Centres in the United Kingdom, Hamilton in New Zealand and Phoenix, Arizona in the USA. CTC Aviation also provides bespoke wet training, type rating endorsement, multi-crew training, Jet Orientation Courses (JOC), Operator Conversion Courses (OCC) and command, Type Rating Instructor (TRI), Type Rating Examiner Standardisation (TRES) and human factors initial and instructor programmes, as well as recurrent/refresher training.
