Follow on Google News | Suffolk and Norfolk see multi-million pound investment in new care homesJuly saw a trio of new, state-of-the-art homes added to Care UK’s portfolio of care homes in East Anglia.
By: Care UK First to open was Cleves Place in Haverhill which provides nursing, residential and dementia care for up to 60 people. Residents, assisted by the local mayor Councillor Betty McLatchy and Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for adult care, Councillor Beccy Hopfensperger, cut a ribbon and enjoyed afternoon tea with people from the local community. This ceremony was quickly followed by one at Cedrus House in Stowmarket – a beautiful new home overlooking a lake which will provide care for 70 people once it’s full. Both Suffolk developments also include day clubs which provide flexible day care services for older people living in their own homes, enabling them to keep active, meet new people, enjoy a tasty two-course lunch and maintain their independence for longer. Manager of Cavell Court in Norfolk, Anita O’Neill, said: “The team is thrilled to finally welcome residents to their new home. Every last detail here has been considered to create a high quality, luxury environment which will enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives. From the moment they walk through the door, we hope residents and their loved ones will agree Cavell Court is a warm and inviting home from home, specially designed to meet each individual’s day-to-day needs.” Speaking after the opening event at Cleves Place, Councillor Beccy Hopfensperger, Suffolk County Council’s cabinet member for adult care, said: “It’s fantastic to see Cleves Place officially open. The facility offers both specialised residential care and great day care services that can be flexible and meet the needs of those living in their own homes. Providing good quality care is so important and Cleves Place offers a new, welcoming and homely environment with plenty of activities on offer.” Michelle Webster, Cedrus House home manager, said: “The opening event was such a special day and we were all delighted to welcome so many members of the local community to join us in our celebrations. Cedrus House and the adjacent Cedrus Club have been open for a few months now and it’s great to see how quickly they have become established within the community of the Cedars Park area of Stowmarket.” Including the three new homes mentioned above, Care UK has opened nine new homes in the past 12 months. In all new homes, each bedroom has an en-suite wet room, together with a flat-screen television, adjustable profile bed and 24-hour nurse call system. There are also plenty of safe and welcoming spaces for residents and their visitors to relax indoors and outdoors, with a cinema, coffee shop, landscaped gardens, attractive patio areas and gardens.
