Sky Zone Plainfield teams up with Giving Hearts a Hand to offer free cardiac screenings for students

PLAINFIELD, Ind. - Aug. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Sky Zone Indoor Trampoline Park in Plainfield comes together with Giving Hearts a Hand to offer free cardiac screenings for student athletes.

Giving Hearts a Hand anticipates completing 75-100 screenings on the evening of September 16th, 2015 at Sky Zone Plainfield.  During this "mass" cardiac screening, student athletes are screened using an EKG and echocardiogram. These tests measure the electrical and structural conditions of a young athlete's heart, detecting possible defects, and sometimes even life threatening conditions.

“Our partnership with Giving Hearts a Hand allows us to help provide the screenings needed to ensure student athletes receive, potentially life-saving, preventative care,” said Joanna Kingery, owner of Sky Zone Plainfield. “We are honored to support Giving Hearts a Hand and recognize the work they do is crucial to keeping children safe.”

About Giving Hearts a Hand

Giving Hearts a Hand(GHH) is a nonprofit organization that has a mission to inform local communities about heart conditions in young athletes, while funding cardiac screenings that will create awareness and potentially save lives.

Since the organization began funding screenings in the summer of 2012, nearly 700 student athletes from various schools in Central and Southeast Indiana have been tested. GHH hopes that participation in the screening programs that have been implemented at these schools will increase as awareness of undetected cardiac conditions becomes more prevalent.
