World Vision 6K for Water: Race in Chicago to Provide Clean Water in Africa

CHICAGO - Aug. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Six kilometers (3.72 miles) is the average distance that people in Africa have to walk for water. The World Vision 6K for Water on August 22^nd will give race participants the opportunity to experience what it feels like to travel that same distance, while at the same time providing clean water to one person in Africa through their registration fee.

Each registration of $50 will bring clean water and fullness of life to one person, whose photo will be pictured on their individual race bib. Every bib is unique and shows participants their direct impact in Africa.

Nearly 1,600 children under 5 die every day from diarrhea caused by dirty water, poor sanitation, and improper hygiene.

Clean water frees children from deadly disease. It liberates women and children from a life spent gathering dirty water. It restores health and opens the door to education, a promising future, and a full life.

World Vision is the largest non-government provider of clean water in the world.

World Vision is providing a new person with clean water every 30 seconds as part of our full solution to poverty.

Race Details: Chip-timed, family friendly, closed course, age group awards, t-shirt, and unique race bib to each participant with a photo of a child who will gain access to clean water through their registration.
