New Book Reveals Who Really Saved Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Aug. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- SAVANNAH, Ga. – History enthusiast and walking tour operator Jack Wray has penned a new book entitled, “Who Really Saved Savannah?”  This new book discusses how Savannah escaped from total calamity during the Civil War.

According to Wray, “So much has been written about the Civil War which is simply not correct and misrepresents the southern cause.  I wanted to present our history in new way with true words from key players in history who were here.”

After years of detailed research, Wray says, “This book is filled with passion, pain, paradox and providence over a long, 53-day ordeal.  It is factual, documented and any student of history will find this book rewarding.”

Jack Wray is a walking tour guide with the company he founded, Historic Savannah by Foot, which offers Civil War and Colonial history tours.

About the Author

As a resident of Savannah for over 35 years, Jack Wray has spent many years in the tourism business with a special emphasis on how the city was spared burning by the Union Army under Gen. William T. Sherman. He has relationships with historians in Savannah with whom he has studied and who are knowledgeable about its history far beyond what textbooks offer.
