Follow on Google News | Tinicum Township, PA Installs HeartSine AEDs Prior to Pope’s VisitBy: HeartSine Technologies, Tinicum Township The township, located in Delaware County, has purchased ten HeartSine samaritan® PAD AEDs to place in various locations throughout the municipality, including the following places: Town Hall, Library, Public Works Department, Wastewater Treatment Plant, police station, various sports fields, and in its ambulances. Equipping the township came at a good time, as the municipality expects thousands of visitors due to the upcoming Papal visit of Pope Francis from September 26-27, 2015. The HeartSine samaritan® PAD 350P (SAM 350P) AED, a device that analyzes the heart rhythm and delivers an electrical shock to victims of SCA in order to restore the heart to normal rhythm, will guard the Township's population in the event of a SCA, an often life-threatening condition in which the heart stops beating without warning. Many of the Township's board members are lifelong members of the Tinicum Township Fire Company, which led to the decision to equip the Township with AEDs, as they have witnessed first-hand the severity of SCA and understand the true value of a defibrillator. “We selected HeartSine AEDs due to the ease-of-use of the device, which walks you throughout the entire save process, says David Schreiber, Township Manager of Tinicum Township.” “In addition, we appreciate HeartSine's commitment to saving lives with its Forward Hearts program.” HeartSine's Forward Hearts programs lets survivors of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest event, in which a HeartSine defibrillator has been used, to potentially save another life by donating a HeartSine samaritan® PAD to the charity or organization of the survivor’s choice. “HeartSine is pleased with Tinicum Township's commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens”, says Pamela Alpin, Sales Manager at HeartSine Technologies.” The AEDs were sold and installed by HeartSine's Authorized Distributor, Tri-State Training and Safety Consulting, LLC. About SCA Sudden Cardiac Arrest is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating, causing blood to stop flowing to the brain and other vital organs. SCA happens to people of all ages, including children, and is often fatal if not treated within minutes. CPR alone will not restart the heart, so the American Heart Association and ERC recommend CPR combined with early defibrillation (within three to five minutes) for the best outcome. SCA claims more than seven million lives annually and occurs abruptly and without warning. About HeartSine Technologies HeartSine Technologies, a world leader in personal and public access defibrillators, advances the deployment of life-saving defibrillation therapy for the treatment of Sudden Cardiac Arrest in non-traditional areas of care. Designed for use in public areas, the company’s entire line of Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) products leverages its proprietary, clinically advanced SCOPE technology to optimize the administration of life-saving treatment. The company’s flagship product line, the HeartSine samaritan PAD (Public Access Defibrillator) HeartSine is based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and Newtown, Pennsylvania.
