Susan Gold Named Keynote Speaker at Boston Festival of Indie Games 2015

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Aug. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- August 27, 2015 – Cambridge, MA – The Boston Festival of Indie Games is proud to announce the keynote speaker for 2015, founder of The Annual Global Game Jam, Professor Susan Gold (http://bostonfig.com/programming/). Susan’s keynote speech will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the MIT Johnson Athletic Center and will focus on the unique, artful, and uncanny stories that fuel independent game developers’ passion to let those stories come to fruition, play out their tales, and make amazing games.

In addition to creating The Annual Global Game Jam (http://globalgamejam.org/about), the world’s largest yearly game creation marathon with over 30,000 participants from over 80 countries,  Susan is also an educator. After moving to Boston in 2013, she joined Northeastern University’s faculty as the associate director of games. Professor Susan Gold is an artist, teacher, and activist who is deeply passionate about fostering the richness and diversity that makes up independent game development community.

Her expertise is sought by many educators and developers alike, with conferences and organizations - such as The Education Summit at GDC and the Federal Games Working Group Summit at Games for Change - frequently tapping her extensive knowledge. The 2015 Boston Festival of Indie Games is proud to present the 2015 Keynote speaker, Professor Susan Gold!

The Boston Festival of Indie Games is open to the public and will take place at the Johnson Athletic Center at MIT in Cambridge, MA. Festival attendees play video games and tabletop games in a casual, inclusive environment, plus attend a musical performance by Videri String Quartet and keynote speech by Susan Gold, Founder and President of Global Game Jam.
