By: SMA Behavioral Healthcare Rhonda’s previous responsibilities as VP of Crisis & Residential Services included overseeing adolescents and adults in crisis, residential programs for addiction, and corrections programs like Reality House, a addiction and work release model for inmates around the State, a total of 14 programs. This current assignment will add the responsibility of overseeing all outpatient treatment programs in Flagler, Putnam, St. John’s, Volusia, and Counties, the manufacturing, janitorial, and grounds-keeping services of Enrichment Industries throughout the Central Florida region, and responsibility for operations, management, and quality assurance across all SMA programs. “Rhonda is passionate about every aspect of our programs and we are extremely fortunate to have her,” said Ivan Cosimi, SMA’s CEO. “She has been serving SMA in a management capacity since 1994 and her leadership is invaluable,” Rhonda holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Louisville, and a Juris Doctorate from the Brandies School of Law, Louisville, Kentucky. She is a member of Florida Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association, Florida Council for Community Mental Health, and the Florida Association of Drug Court Professionals. She taught “Drugs and Crime, A Perspective on Treatment and the Impact on Criminal Behavior,” as an adjunct professor for the University of Central Florida and is certified as a Trainer of Trainers for Moral Reconation Therapy. She received training in tobacco addiction from the University of Florida’s McKnight Brain Institute, and subsequently obtained certification as a tobacco addictions counselor by the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors. SMA Behavioral Healthcare has been serving the northeast Florida community with mental health and drug treatment services for over 50 years.
