Estuary Council To Host 1st Annual Shoreline Chefs Benefit Gala

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. - Sept. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- The Estuary Council of Seniors will host its 1st Annual Shoreline Chefs gala event on Sunday, September 20, 2015, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the Old Saybrook Town Green on Main Street.


The September 20th event will feature restaurateurs, gifted home cooks and neighborhood notables providing food and cooking talent for an enjoyable afternoon of small plate tasting. The Estuary Council is encouraging all of the local great cooks to sign up as a guest cook at the Shoreline Chefs event, which will benefit the council's Meals on Wheels program.

Admission to the afternoon of delicious recipes and specialty foods is $35 per person, and local businesses are encouraged to be a corporate sponsor. The Old Saybrook-based Estuary Council of Seniors provides vital services to the nine-town estuary district. Last year, the Estuary Council provided 70,000 hot, nutritious meals to individuals throughout its district.

Since 1974, the Estuary Council of Seniors has helped individuals age 50 and older remain independent and healthy through its many programs and activities. In addition to its Meals on Wheels program, the Estuary Council provides medical outpatient transportation, social and educational programs and numerous trips and activities.
