By: Prismic Studios “I’ve always been a storyteller at heart, and the best stories can’t be told in 90 minutes, which is why it’s always been a dream of mine to make video games,” said Dano. “I’m thankful the Steam Community selected my game; it brings me one step closer to making this a reality.” Dano Kablamo (Daniel Harry) is a composer, music producer, filmmaker, painter, and now a game developer making “Gnomes vs. Fairies,” a single-player, retro platformer game in a high-fantasy world. The Kickstarter for “Gnomes vs. Fairies” launched late September. While Dano has so far bootstrapped development, art direction, story, and sound design, a successful Kickstarter will help him hire additional support for user interface, multiplayer, and a full orchestral score. Currently in beta, “Gnomes vs. Fairies” is planned for release this winter, playable on Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android operating systems with a stretch goal for Oculus RiftTM support, a virtual reality platform purchased by Facebook in 2014. “Gnomes vs. Fairies” is set in the Gnomelands of Ventocia, where the player is the last free Gnome on a quest to rescue enslaved Gnomekin from the evil Fairy King and the spells of his Fairy Daughters. Players jump, slash, and twirl their way through mystical worlds riddled with Mushroom Monsters, Kittybats, Gorphs, and more. Harness untold magic and recruit new allies to unleash magical mayhem in the final stand against the tyranny of the Fairy King.
