Los Angeles, California has lots to see

Believe it or not, The Big Orange is not just about pop culture. LA will celebrate the opening of a prestigious new museum of contemporary art, the Broad, in the autumn of 2015. The Board's stunning exterior exoskeleton makes the 120,000 square foot building itself an amazing piece of modern sculpture.

Another impressive edifice is the U.S. Bank Tower, at 1000 feet in height the tallest in California. As part of a multimillion dollar upgrade, the Tower has been fitted out with an observation deck, topped by an elegant restaurant on the 71st story.

Speaking of eateries set in unique premises, Redbird is a restaurant that opened relatively recently in the rectory of the old Vibiana cathedral. Worth visiting for the stunningly attractive setting alone, Redbird has nevertheless managed to garner a slew of favorable reviews for its food as well.

Los Angeles will always be a place for rising stars to try for that big break. One of the places where comedians have tested their talents over the years is LA Comedy Club. Closed for several months in early 2015, the club is scheduled to reopen this summer in a new incarnation, LA Comedy Club -- Dragon Room.
