ISSAQUAH, Wash. - Oct. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Scary Things Can Happen When You Rely Exclusively on Paper Aircraft part 91 Logbooks!

Once upon a time there was a Director of Maintenance.

This DOM was a legendary hero who had a reputation for saving the day. Aircraft owners trusted him with their beloved flying machines. Customers depend on him for their safety. The owner of the charter company even said he didn’t know what he’d do without him.

Then one Halloween day, an FAA inspector arrived for a surprise inspection of a certain aircraft’s records

Through the morning our hero was confident, because his records were always in order, reflecting the airworthiness of the airplanes he operated.

“We’re almost done. There was just one item I could not find. Do you have the sign-off and 337 for the winglet STC installation on Hawker Zero Bravo?” The inspector said.

A hush fell over the office.

Zero Bravo was a beautiful Hawker 800 that was owned by one of the most demanding owners, and was scheduled to fly later that day with one of the charter company’s most famous and discriminating customers.

Our hero had a sinking feeling. The information in question had just been reviewed several months ago. It was now missing. If our hero the DOM could not locate the documents by early afternoon, the FAA inspector would have to ground Zero Bravo!

The DOM frantically went back through the part 91 logbooks and paper records. All of the mechanics, dispatchers and management personnel were surreptitiously listening for the news of how this drama would play out. Someone whispered an update to the owner of the charter company, who began to pace nervously in his office.

Then our hero remembered that the records were backed up in V-Log’s Aircraft Digital Logbook. He used the search feature to quickly find the missing documentation, and he printed a copy.

“That wraps it up! Thank you for your cooperation.” the FAA inspector said. He left the office satisfied.

The famous and discriminating charter customer was able to make his flight right on time.

The charter company owner was pleased as he counted the profits from the charter flight.

And our hero went home early to take his children trick-or-treating. After a scary Halloween movie with his wife, he slept soundly, knowing that he and V-Log had saved the day once again. And he knew that he was well-prepared for even the most frightening aviation records management challenges that would come his way in the future.

How can YOU be the guy that saves the day?
