Follow on Google News | Endowing Hearts and the Odyssey Project Partner to Launch Project OneOrganizational leaders from Endowing Hearts and the Odyssey Project have confirmed that the two organizations have partnered to launch a comprehensive inner city community initiative.
By: The Odyssey Project We were able to catch up with Dr. Wallace, who happily shared some of the details surrounding this event. “First of all, Project One is not an event; it is the initiation of a movement. Also, it is important to understand that the idea to use this specific inner city community as “Ground Zero” is 100 percent the idea of Michael Jordan of the Endowing Hearts Foundation. Michael, who has historically focused on feeding the homeless, became aware of the struggles of black families in this community while speaking with the administrative staff at Albert Thomas Middle School. He immediately contacted me and asked if I would be willing to be a part of what he was planning on doing. I said yes, and here we are. Project one is so much more than a few black people dropping in on the unfortunate for a photo opportunity. It is about meeting our people at their point of need, and providing them with the support they so desperately need in order to participate in their own elevation. As far as Michael is concerned, I absolutely love riding the passion of this young brother. I love that he sees a need and he goes in to engage it. I will be adding the programming and social strategies, and offering any other resources at my disposal to ensure that this project is a success.” Dr. Wallace went on to talk about the fact that Michael wasn’t that outspoken, but he says that he is personally working on helping Michael build a platform on which he can expand his reach, because he has the ability to infect people with his passion and hope. Dr. Wallace is a strong advocate of the social concept of creating a psychological and spiritual contagion. He believes if you can infect someone with hope and passion, they will infect others, and that is how change is achieved on a grand scale. We were able to obtain a quote from Mr. Jordan, “Every time I get on Facebook, all I see is a bunch of people complaining about the things that are happening amongst or to our people, but I never see the said solutions or strategies to combat the problems. If you want to see a difference, then you must become a difference maker. Together we can be the change we all so desperately seek. I need some warriors to stand and fight with me, so that we can take back our communities. I really need the men of the community to stand up and be what our women and children need us to be. If you are about what I'm speaking of, then please meet me at Albert Thomas Middle School on next Saturday October 24th at 2pm. I'm sold out for my people, and I will fight until there is nothing left; however, I can't do it alone. If you're willing to stand and fight with me, then let me know now! If there are others who you feel will stand with us, invite them as well. Welcome to “Ground Zero” ladies and gentleman; IT'S TIME!!!” Both Dr. Wallace and Mr. Jordan referenced “Ground Zero,’ which reflects the fact that their focus moves far beyond this one community. Their ultimate goal is a complete takeover of the culture in all black communities in the U.S. To learn more about Project One visit the official page at: http://www.theodysseyproject21.com/ End
