Premier Athletic Facility Breaks Ground in Edmond

EDMOND, Okla. - Oct. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Solid Rock Basketball, a 32,000-square-foot basketball facility specializing in player development, is set to break ground in October 2015. The facility in Edmond will be located at 140 W 15th Street, a quarter of a mile west of 15th and Broadway and will offer individual and group training, year-round skills academy, summer camps, leagues, tournaments and court rental opportunities.

Solid Rock aims to help athletes train physically, grow spiritually and strengthen mentally, through a positive and engaging curriculum. The facility is the first of its kind in the metro—it has a total of four courts and seeks to champion an encouraging and challenging culture for its students. Solid Rock is open to children and adolescents from kindergarten to twelfth grade.

“The Oklahoma City metro area is crying out for a facility like Solid Rock Basketball,” said Craig Wiginton, former National Championship coach at Southern Nazarene University and General Manager of Solid Rock. “There is basketball training going on here and there, but not a single all-inclusive facility that brings consistent proven training in a premier multi-court environment.”

Joining Wiginton to serve youth in the metro is Brandon Troutman, founder of Game Changer Hoops LLC which specializes in player development in the Oklahoma City area, and JoAnna Bailey Wiginton, National Championship Southern Nazarene University player and coach. Solid Rock will also staff some of the most successful and talented players and coaches in the Oklahoma City metro.

“My personal desire to be a part of Solid Rock Basketball comes from an intense love for the game of basketball when played in the purest form,” said JoAnna. “Even more than the love for basketball, is my desire to truly serve and mentor young children and young adults to the best of my ability. It is so important to me to help teach the true fundamentals and the team strategies of basketball in the most positive and challenging environment possible.”
