After a string of recent LGBT attacks involving dating sites such as the popular app Grindr, femme for femme dating website Pink Lobster Dating have teamed up with photography studio The Fresh Group to offer members a complimentary photoshoot to confirm that members are real and genuine.

The latest in a long string of attacks was reported by the Daily Mail on Friday, 23^rd October when a gay male was attacked and robbed in his own home in Queensborough Terrace, Bayswater, West London.

The victim, who has not been named, did not suffer serious injuries but was “very shaken” by the attack, which happened at around 5pm on September 28.

This follows the ongoing saga of Stephen Port of Barking, East London, who is accused of luring four men to his home via Grindr, before drugging and killing them, and disposing of their bodies near his home.

In light of the recent activity, Detective Constable April Smart, of Westminster CID, said

“I would like to take this opportunity to reassure the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) community that we are doing everything we can to arrest these men and have followed and eliminated a number of potential leads and inquiries to date.

'I would urge everyone who uses the services of online dating apps and sites to take steps to help them to stay safe whilst meeting strangers.”

1.   If the members only have 1 image be careful, they should have more than one as it is more likely they are real.  It also helps if the images need to be verified before they are allowed to be published.
