Carry Out Cafe Blooms with Paintings by Chelmsford Artist Trina Teele

NEWBURYPORT, Mass. - Nov. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Carry Out Cafe & Catering in Newburyport, MA, will feature “Bloom Close – Bloom Often,” a solo exhibition of flower paintings and more by artist Trina Teele in the Cafe. The collection is on display in the gallery in November and December. A free Artist Reception will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8^th  from 2 to 4 p.m. at Carry Out Cafe. The public is invited to come meet the artist, see the exhibition, and enjoy appetizers and beverages.

A graphic designer and life-long resident of Chelmsford, MA, Ms. Teele is a strong proponent of pursuing creativity every day. The show’s name “Bloom Close – Bloom Often” reflects this goal. She holds a BFA degree in painting and graphic design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In addition to her freelance graphic design business, Ms. Teele founded and leads beginner single-session painting classes at The Joy of Paint! at the CCA (http://www.chelmsfordarts.org/classes/#jop). She is an artist-in-residence at the newly renovated Chelmsford Center for the Arts, where the public can visit her studio. She also teaches drawing, painting, and iPad art.

“Trina has a vast portfolio of subjects, all of which are gorgeous and joyful. We will be showing her flower series, along with some seascapes to reflect the beauty found locally,” said Paula Simpson, owner of Carry Out Cafe & Catering. “In addition, we will have 2016 calendars of her work on sale at the Cafe, which gives people the ability to appreciate her talent throughout the year.”

Ms. Teele emphasizes rhythmic shapes of bold color with strong, graphic darks and lights. “I typically paint to music as it helps me to focus in on what I am doing. The ideal subject makes me feel like it is swaying, and rouses me to paint,” she explains. “Recently, I’ve taken to doing an under painting with a thin acrylic wash on canvas, and layering it with a more loosely styled oil paint. This permits me the control and speed of acrylic with the depth and blending of oil.”

In her exploration of why one needs art and creativity, Ms. Teele posts daily on her blog (trinacreative.blogspot.com). She also maintains her graphic design business (www.teeledesign.com) and continues to study with local artists.
