After over 275 years of serving the people of Oxford, Boswells are introducing a tea room for the first time in the history of the store. The 1738 Tea Room Café will officially be opened on Saturday 28th November with a visit from Santa himself. The tea room will have a strong focus on local and British brands working with local suppliers to bring customers the best quality produce. It will follow in the footsteps of the Boswells of Oxford store being quintessentially English and will offer something new to the shoppers and visitors of Oxford. Friendly and welcoming waiters and waitresses will offer table service throughout the tea room providing a haven for shoppers with children, those carrying bags and those wanting a comfortable environment in which to take a break from the busy Oxford streets. The table service offers the opportunity for people to relax, rest their feet and take time to use the Wi-Fi facilities available within the tea room. For people in more of a hurry there will be an efficient take away service offered. The 1738 Tea Room Café will be the perfect place to meet friends, get a rest from shopping and enjoy a unique selection of teas and fresh coffee, luscious cakes, freshly made sandwiches and much more. It can also be a place to help celebrate a special event with traditional afternoon tea with sparkling wine on offer. Products in the tea room will be supplied by local brands with coffee from Peros and stunning cakes from Happy Cakes, Viva Las Cakes and Stephanie Almeida Bespoke Cakes. Truly Scrumptious will be supplying sandwiches and traditional pastries, cheese boards filled by Oxford Cheese Company, pastries and breads from the Natural Bread Company, jams and chutneys from Limes Farm and drinks from Brightwell Vineyard as well as a wide selection of teas from Twinings.
