By: Children Therapy Horses This year Zuma's programming department received a $5,000 boost from TSF ensuring more at risk youth participation in Zuma's Equine Assisted Learning programs. The "ZEAL" program partners children struggling with both emotional and behavioral issues with the rescued animals at Zuma's in a therapeutic program designed to help them to become emotionally balanced, productive members of society. The partnering of kids and horses is a powerful partnership, couple that partnership with dedicated mentors and mental health professionals all on the 146-acre horse ranch and you have the makings for a both healing and learning environment. At Zuma's Rescue Ranch, gone are the days of traditional "talk therapy", replaced with an outdoor interactive therapeutic model blended with experiential learning, therapeutic protocols and a more listening and doing experience. Zuma’s Rescue Ranch is grateful for partners like the Tony Stewart Foundation that recognize the need for change in how we are working with trouble kids. We look forward to putting the funds to great use in 2016. If you or your family are struggling with emotional issues like; communication blocks, depression, learning differences, hyperactive tendencies, inability to focus, divorce, blended families or other emotional challenges, please contact Zuma’s via email at: info@zumasrescueranch.com.
