Henderson Franklin Paralegal Sharon Read Honored with 2015 Distinguised Paralegal Award

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Dec. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A., is pleased to announce that Sharon Read received the 2015 Distinguished Paralegal Award for Lee County from the Paralegal Association of Florida, Southwest Florida Chapter.

Read has been active in the legal field in Michigan and Florida for over 35 years. She joined Henderson Franklin in May 1994 working exclusively in the Tort & Insurance Litigation division performing demanding duties including interviewing witnesses, taking statements, preparing and analyzing documents, conducting research and investigation and attending court-related hearings and trials. Read graduated from Oakland University’s Legal Assistant program in Rochester, Michigan, was a Charter Member of the National Association of Legal Assistants in 1972, and became a Florida Registered Paralegal in 2011.

Over the years, Read has dedicated countless hours volunteering for many youth and elderly organizations in the Southwest Florida community, including:  the Juvenile Arbitration, County Court Mediator, and Guardian Ad Litem Program for the 20th Judicial Circuit; Advisor to the Dunbar 21st Century Collaboration; Lee Elder Abuse Prevention Partnership; the Steering Committee for Fort Myers and Naples for The Children’s Movement of Florida; and, Drug Free SWFL Planning Committee for Red Ribbon Week. She also worked in the public arena, serving as a program analyst for Governor Charlie Crist working with the Florida Children and Youth Cabinet. Read also served as a Government Committee Member for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and is a graduate of the City of Fort Myers Citizens Police Academy.
