Tis' The Season of Giving; Forward Science Donates 5th Device For Charity Campaign

HOUSTON - Dec. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- In May of 2014, Forward Science™, the developers of the award winning OralID oral cancer screening device, launched a Facebook Charity Campaign in efforts to give back to the non-profit community. For every 500 "Likes" the OralID Facebook page receives, a device is donated to a chosen non-profit organization. Since the start of the campaign, the company has donated five oral cancer screening devices to various non-profit organizations across the country: North Carolina Missions of Mercy (NCMOM) at 500 "Likes", Free Clinic of Simi Valley in Simi Valley, CA at 1000 "Likes", St. Christopher's Foundation for Children in Philadelphia, PA at 1,500 "Likes", and the Homeless Emergency Project (HEP) in Clearwater, FL at 2,000 "Likes".

The recent goal of 2,500 "Likes" was recently reached in November 2015, which meant a fifth device would be donated. The company chose the non-profit winner differently this time by allowing the public to vote on their favorite organization out of three semi-finalists; Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare Dental Residency Program in New Hartford, NY, Nassau Academy of Dentistry in Garden City, NY and Dental Health Arlington in Arlington, TX. After several days of voting (commenting under a Facebook post about the three organizations), the majority of the votes landed with Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare Dental Residency Program. Nassau Academy of Dentistry and Dental Health Arlington will be eligible for the next donated device as well.

Faxton St. Luke's Healthcare and Dental Residency Program is located in New Hartford, New York. Their mission is to provide post-doctoral training for dental residents while fulfilling the unmet dental needs of the community. They are the only post-doctoral training program within a 50 mile radius. Faxton St. Luke's is the largest provider of dental services to patients in the community with special needs including developmental disabilities, cancer patients, heart surgery patients, refugees, addiction recovery patients, dialysis patients and much more.
