"Sandra Bland" - Lessons to Be Learned: Discrimination & Racism Through the Ages

Powerful Book by Abiodun Olayinka Bamgbelu Takes on Society’s Views on Race

NEW YORK - Jan. 5, 2016 - PRLog -- The greatest minds in history have written with clarity about racism, yet the issue still exists.

“How is it that we hear the loudest yelps of liberty among the drivers of Negroes?” – Dr Samuel Johnson

“No advance in wealth, no softening of manners, no reform or revolution has ever brought human equality a millimeter nearer.” – George Orwell

“Too often the strong, silent man is silent only because he does not know what to say, and is reputed strong only because he has remained silent.” – Sir Winston Churchill

Jump to modern times and news headlines covered the Sandra Bland case.

Bland was a black woman who was found hanged in her jail cell in Waller County, Texas, in July 2015 after being arrested following a minor traffic violation. Her death was ruled a suicide, but the FBI is investigating the case to see if racial discrimination was involved. She was recorded saying to the police: “Don’t touch me.”

This book charges that racial harassment, molestation, and battery-induced monoamine imbalance led to insanity, suicide, and the death of this mentally fragile 28-year-old woman.

In the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, it is suicidal to talk back to policemen. It shouldn’t be the same in the democratic United States of America.

“I hate a fellow whom pride, or cowardice, or laziness drives into a corner, and who does nothing when he is there but sit and growl; let him come out as I do, and bark.” – Dr Samuel Johnson

Where is the common humanity and morality of mankind headed?
