Terzian to receive Distinguished Achievement Award and to be inducted into Theta Chi Fraternity’s Hall of Honor
“This award from the Theta Chi Fraternity that includes being inducted in its Hall of Honor is truly exalting,” said Mr. Terzian. “As an alumnus of one of the oldest men’s college fraternities in North America, I’m deeply moved by this recognition.” In 1957, while an undergraduate and Student Body President at the University of Southern California (USC), Mr. Terzian received Theta Chi’s Colley Achievement Award as the “most outstanding member of the Fraternity nationwide.” Mr. Terzian has been successfully providing public relations counsel for over 5,000 non-profits, corporations, individuals and institutions for more than 46 years. He is nationally recognized and respected for his community involvement and human relations talent and philosophy. He provides effective and relevant tools for the success of civic and charity based organizations, with his very unique method of networking corporations with extremely relevant community programs. Service to others has been a part of his portfolio since graduating Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi from USC, where he majored in political science. Before establishing his own full-service public relations firm in 1969, Mr. Terzian served as International Goodwill Ambassador for President Eisenhower and Secretary of State John Foster Dulles; Director of Church and Public Relations for the Lutheran Hospital Society of Southern California, civic affairs consultant to Coast Savings and Loan Association; Mr. Terzian has been honored by Her Majesty the Queen of England, the U.S. Congress, the California Senate and Assembly, the City and County of Los Angeles, and dozens of other government agencies, corporations and non-profits. Of Armenian parents, Mr. Terzian was born in Hollywood and attended Hollywood High School before going on to USC. After graduating from the university, he thought seriously about becoming a Lutheran minister. He instead choose a secular ministry with his unique and personal style of business networking and public relations in the Theta Chi Fraternity’s tradition of helping others.
