Buddy Baker, Big Band Arranger, Disney Legend, and Musical Genius Revealed

ALBANY, Ga. - Jan. 13, 2016 - PRLog -- It’s a small world. Anyone familiar with Disney's films, TV series, and theme parks is familiar with Buddy Baker’s music. Filmgoers first heard his arrangements in Toby Tyler (1960). He scored more than fifty feature films and earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on Napoleon and Samantha (1972). As the chief composer and musical director of Disney's design branch, WED Enterprises, Buddy provided much of the incidental music for Disneyland, Disney World, and Epcot Center. This is his story.

From a humble beginning in Springfield, Missouri, Buddy began composing and arranging music at an early age. He worked for top big bands, such as Harry James, Stan Kenton, Jack Teagarden, and Bob Crosby. He arranged music on hit radio shows, such as The Bob Hope Show, The Eddie Cantor Show, and The Jack Benny Program) before getting into film. He joined Walt Disney on the TV series, Davy Crockett, and Baker stayed with the studio for close to three decades. He was soon named musical director of The Mickey Mouse Club and about 200 other productions for the big and small screen.

It’s a small world, but Benny’s life story of movies, music, and Mickey Mouse has touched people everywhere. His music will play on forever.
