Among the 86 Official Selections to be screened at Cinema Village in the heart of Greenwich Village (22 East 12th Street, New York, NY 10003), the WFA team is proud to showcase an exciting slate of thirteen films from Germany, Austria and Hungary, providing a fascinating overview of the best of the Region’s indie film community. * Between The Lines Short / 30 mins. Screens Saturday Feb 20, Block 3: 1PM-4PM. Directed by Florian Moses Bayer. Harald Mayr is a devoted postman in a small village called Gaiswinkel. He is not only delivering letters, but also checking them. If their content doesn’t meet his moral standards, he amends them to fit. * Children of the Wind Music Video / 5 mins. Screens Sunday Feb 21, Block 6: 1PM-4PM. Directed by Vas-Zoltan Ivan. A crossover music video–mini drama using music from Rags the Musical, it takes on the journey of all people who have to leave their homeland behind due to any kind of racial atrocity, political force or economical hardship. * Golden Music Video / 3 mins. Screens Monday Feb 22, Block 9: 8PM-11:30PM. Directed by Kai Stänicke. A tale of being different – and growing up. * Headstrong Miss M. Short / 16 mins. Screens Tuesday Feb 23, Block 10: 8PM-11:30PM. Directed by Katinka Feistl. Since 12 year old Annie moved in with her father, she constantly tells wild stories about her pussy. Unrealistic, seemingly disparate, yet interrelated scenes that poke, like an intrusive recurring traumatic experience, into the mind of the powerless spectator. * Letter to God Short / 30 mins. Screens Wednesday Feb 24, Block 11: 8PM-11:30PM. Directed by Tamas Yvan Topolanszky. Aladár lives in deep poverty with his wife and children on a farm far from the village. The driest summer of their lives endangers everything he has built for his family. Every day, he prays to God with his childlike prayers. The poor yet smart trickster Si Lunchai triumphs over the cruel king. Things of worth are often neglected in favour of that which is more immediately gratifying. Unfortunately, things that are neglected are often lost forever. The life of a misguided and intensely focused man, chronicled through his oral obsessions. * Tristes Déserts – A Robot’s Tale Music Video / 8 mins. Screens Friday Feb 19, Block 1: 7-9PM. Directed by Stephanie Winter. In a time dominated by artificial intelligence, the extravagant musical short film tells the story of a lonely baroque robot in a battle between good and evil, recalling the magic of the early cinema.
