Peachanda DuBose is 2016 NAACP “Home Town Champion”

Peachanda DuBose has been presented the “Home Town Champion” Award during this year’s NAACP Image Awards to be held in Los Angeles, CA.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Jan. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- Award winning Playwright /Director/Songwriter /Screenwriter/Author/Producer, Peachanda DuBose who’s career is trending her natural success over the last decade, and who uses her talents to make a difference in the lives of others deserving thespians, has been named “Home Town Champion” by the acclaimed NAACP Image Awards for her works in the Playwrights Ball & Symposium/PEACH Theatre Awards™.

Her contributions to artistic creativity have been recognized by peers and fans, and is greatly admired for her efforts as the first African American women to hold an annual awards event aboard a cruise ship that Honors & Educates the under recognized individuals in the theatre, television, film, and the literary arts industries from around the world through her works as convener of The Playwrights Ball & Symposium/PEACH Theatre Awards™.

DuBose established the Mayan Industry Awards™, a by-Annual community Industry Award celebration as well as the "Pioneer Awards™” which is dedicated to unsung celebrities who are paving the way for other up & coming artists.

DuBose remains a true inspiration through her altruistic efforts through her writing of her two books, Reflections of Me" and "Unbreakable", plays and awards shows events yearly. Under her belt, she touts such plays as:"Surrender", "Even a Wretch like Me", "Mr. Harold Behave", "The Devil Thought he Had Me," "The List", "No Weapon" and soon, "Ferguson, all while rearing her two children during tumultuous times in her personal life.

Peachanda says “It has been very difficult trying to stay focused on my dreams. Life has its way with you. I need to always be there for my children even in the face of straying away from my own goals but, I do serve a mighty, mighty God and even in the face of adversity, he has been mighty good.”

As a working single mom herself specializing in the field of cosmetology, Peachanda has established a “not for profit” association for single Mothers with the mission of providing assistance to them in the pursuit of their dreams in the Theatre though the “Mayan Hope Association™”

Peachanda DuBose has gone on to write and produce musicals such as "The Greats", along with screenplays and films: "Diverse Temptations”, “Fairytale"- a Biopic.

Previous honors include; Editors' Choice awards, Best Black Female in the arts, Black Women in Jazz/arts awards, and most recently, ATL's HOTTEST PLAYWRIGHT.

Ms. Dubose hails from the state of Delaware and resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with her son and daughter.

The NAACP Image Awards airs live on TV One Friday, February 5th at 9pm.
