AMARILLO, Texas - Jan. 29, 2016 - PRLog -- It was announced this week that “Santa Fe Diesel Locomotive Development” written by noted award-winning, Santa Fe Railway historian, Larry E. Brasher has been released. This book continues the story started in Larry’s first book on the subject, Santa Fe Locomotive Development, picking up where the first volume left off and takes the story on from 1934-1959.

Brasher, who has written several books about Santa Fe’s motive power, signed with the Railroad Artifact Preservation Society last year, three months before his death. Pre-orders for this book have been strong and the society is focusing on releasing more books in the future.

Founder and President of the Society Sam D. Teague, was quoted as saying “Larry is uniquely qualified to write the story of locomotive development on the Santa Fe Railway. He was the son of Lawrence Jere’ Brasher, who was the first Assistant Supervisor of Diesel Locomotives for the Santa Fe Railway System. His father was heavily involved in the development of Diesel locomotives in the early 1930’s which were the formative years of Diesel development.”

“Santa Fe Diesel Locomotive Development” published by the Railroad Artifact Preservation Society, is available for purchase from the Railroad Artifact Preservation Society store and Amazon.com. It is a beautiful hardcover book with 386 pages, and hundreds of vintage photographs from the Railroad and Heritage Museum in Temple Texas.  It will be released as a paperback and E-book in the future.
