Russ Dugger back to Daytona...one more time??

OWASSO, Okla. - Feb. 2, 2016 - PRLog -- One year ago Dugger went to Daytona under the premise of it being his last professional career start. After not qualifying for the race, the team rallied, headed to Talladega in May and brought home a 5^th place finish. Then, using that momentum geared up for Kansas in October of 2015 and after running as high as 4^th, brought home an 11^th place finish. At this point, the stage was set for 2016 and the return of Tanda Racing/DGM Racing to Daytona!

Russ’ focus throughout his racing career has been to inspire those with similar aspirations to not give up. If you have a dream, go out there and get it. Last season’s DNQ at Daytona was an admitted emotional setback for him. However, his rebound in attitude and effort at Talladega produced a career best finish of 5^th at a time when his professional career was supposed to be over. He not only inspired his fans and family, but also his sponsors and supporters. So much so, that in his own words…”We’re not going to Daytona for redemption, we’re going to Daytona to race!”

DGM Racing/Mario Gosselin and Brian Finney Racing have prepared the exact same race car Russ piloted at Talladega. “There was some minor front end damage from Talladega, that’s the only attention the car required, really “said Dugger. “Taking into consideration how comfortable Russ is in the race car at these Super Speedways…I’m really looking forward to this race!” said Mario Gosselin.

Dugger will have the now familiar Tanda Racing “Promoting Youth in Motorsport” them on the race car. Once again, reminding us that there is no future of the sport without our youth being involved in every aspect. From the engineering, technology, mathematical, and scientific sides of the sport…Tanda Racing and Russ embrace the future of this sport wholeheartedly. “Racing teaches the topics of the classroom in a real world environment and provides tangible evidence with results that are measurable.” “This is extremely important in a nation full of exams and tests…to see, touch, feel, and literally smell the results of effort and hard work,” says Dugger.

Russ takes this promotion of Youth in Motorsport literally with his own children. His oldest son recently won a track Championship with the Tulsa Kart Club. His 9yo son finished third in that same class championship battle, both also drivers of Tanda Racing using Praga chassis. “Watching my boy’s race is a thrill, in many ways more rewarding than me racing.” “What these kids do with those small racing machines is truly remarkable…I’m in awe of their talent and focus,” says Dugger. Both of Russ’ boys will be attending this race watching their Dad on the high banks at The World Center of Racing.

Once more, Russ will have Oklahoma based companies on board his #80 Tanda Racing Chevrolet. Xtreme Racing & Entertainment will come on board. As will Dunn-Right Cleaning Service and White Glove Auto Detail. Of course Russ will be promoting his Farmers Insurance Agency as well on his #80 Chevrolet!

Family has always been important to Russ, and he’ll be blessed once more to have his parents at Daytona. “This time, it’ll be a different outcome for them…no disappointment!” said Dugger.  “Last season’s three events they were at each of them. It meant so much to me to share such unique and humbling experiences. Driving these race cars at such historic and famed speedways across the country is a blessing in it of itself. Having family there to share the moments take those experiences to another level,” said Dugger.

“I’m just ready to get back in the race car, close the visor and go to work.”
