The event offers a rare opportunity for bull riding fans to see two of the sports’ elite riders on the professional tour today. Cody Teel, the 2015 CBR World Champion and 2015 NFR Average Champion, will be joined by the three-time World Champion bull rider, Sage Steele Kimzey, as they attempt to keep their top rankings in the CBR Road to Cheyenne televised bull riding tour. Last December, Kimzey and Teel left the dirt in Las Vegas holding onto first and second place for the year-end PRCA World Standings at the 2015 National Finals Rodeo (NFR) and have continued to duel throughout the CBR tour. “Kimzey is a rare talent who rides basically flawless and Teel has the heart and determination of a champion every time he pulls his rope,” said Hedeman, the four-time World Champion bull rider who now produces the nationally televised Road to Cheyenne Tour events. This event will not only feature the two highly decorated World Champion bull riders, each with over $1 million in earnings, but last year’s champion, Brennon Eldred, will be in town defending his title after a hot streak that has gained him the Hobbs, New Mexico event title and a top five ranking in 2016. This year’s event is the 11th stop on the 2016 Road to Cheyenne which pits the industry’s elite riders against the best bulls in a three-round tournament style format with Hedeman selecting the bulls and overseeing every detail of the event production. Rockin' Robbie Hodges will be in the barrel as this year’s entertainment. Hodges, a NFR barrelman and funny guy, will be entertaining the crowd with his quick wit and off the cuff banter during breaks in the bull riding action. The unique CBR three-round tournament style action is worth over $30,000 to the bull riders competing. “I really like this style of competition,” In addition to the lucrative prize money, bull riders accumulate points which qualify them for the World Finals, part of the legendary Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration held in Wyoming next July. At the end of the World Finals, the contestant who has the most points will be crowned the CBR World Champion and receive a $100,000 bonus. The Las Vegas event will also feature “other side of the ride,” CBR’s Million Dollar Bull Team Challenge. Bull owners from all around the country will bring three bulls to be featured during the rounds of competition. The bulls are competing for points based on their performance in the arena. At the end of the night the owner with the three highest scoring bulls will receive $20,000 and a total of $45,000 in prizes will be awarded to the animal athletes. CBR has become known for their action packed performances that keep fans on the edge of their seats, and with the new 2016 show, CBR bull riding is set to impress. From having great bulls matched up with super star riders, to upbeat music and enthusiastic fans, there is something for everyone at the Tuff Hedeman Vegas Shootout. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for ticket holders to enjoy the activities on the concourse including great shopping and meet and greets.
