Follow on Google News | REDmeters Acquires MPV Tech, Launches RM Density Meter SeriesMPV Tech and its single product MassExact was acquired by REDmeters, entering the density measuring market. The MPV product was diversified to better serve the intrinsic applications in each industry. RED stands for Real-time Exact Density meter.
By: REDmeters Marketing Director Peter Van den Broeck on the acquisition: The company also announced it will continue to diversify and expand to any market where a demand is apparent for a 'red meter'. Currently, on their website http://www.redmeters.com there are 3 models of the RM series described in detail, with a downloadable Spec Sheet for each. A quick run-down: RM2 is the meter offered to the Dredging Industry. This RM includes Roll and Tilt software adjustements, which allow it to be mounted on a vessel. It is equiped with an abrasive resistent liner, as required for most dredging business. RM3 measures solids in a carrier liquid. The RM3 is a long-awaited alternative for the mining industry and is said to replace the nuclear core devices used in most mines. RM4 then is advertised as the ultimate solution for measuring sludge, as we find in the waste water treatment centers or tunneling. The key features here are the wide range of solids variations (from 0-100%) at any given time, as well as its high accuracy (99.7%) of measuring the full contents of a pipe. When asked about competing with the current choices and variety of other density gauges already on the market, such as Nuclear Gauges, Sonar and Microwave technology or the Coriolis principle, Peter Van den Broeck says: there are a number of options out there already. With the exception of a Coriolis meter for example, who specializes in density of gasses or air with high precision metering, they all have serious shortcomings, or they can simply not be used in specific industries. Imagine a nuclear device activating your drinking water in a WWT. Simply not an option. And all other meters have a limited reach when it comes to percentage of solids. Another factor is what are they measuring? A cross section of a pipe, really? A red meter measures full pipe, 100% volume, from 0 to 100% dense material, with a 99.7% accuracy, reporting in real time. There is competition, but there is no comparison, according to Peter Van den Broeck. The company is projecting an excess of 200 sales in 2016. End
