By: Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation The Quest Village neighborhood will provide unique and comfortable living for residents to call home. It will contain 48 single bedroom and single bathroom units located in twelve buildings with a community center, a large outdoor courtyard and picnic area with space for athletics. The community’s location on Woodbury Road near Waterford Lakes will provide easy access to healthcare, employment, entertainment, transportation and education. As an independent living community, on-site and off-site support services are available to residents who choose to access these services from Quest, Inc. at a cost on an a la carte basis. “Quest Village is a unique example of social entrepreneurship in action,” stated Foundation President David Odahowski. “When for profit and non-profit organizations come together to improve the community, everyone benefits.” Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation funding supported start up costs related to the project including a feasibility study and business plan development. In addition, Quest, Inc. partnered with Dr. Clay Singleton from the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business to provide an opportunity for students to gain experience in the nonprofit sector. “The Quest, Inc. team is excited about the opportunity to build a project like Quest Village in the Central Florida community. The grants from the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation provided the initial startup funding for us to evaluate and launch this transformational project. This project is a reflection of Quest’s mission and the Foundation’s long-term support of individuals with developmental disabilities. Quest Village is another component of choice for individuals with developmental disabilities as they strive to achieve their dreams to live, learn, work and play in the community,” said John R. Gill, President and Chief Executive Officer Quest, Inc. Since its inception, Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation has granted more than $1.4 million to Quest, Inc. The Quest mission, through quality and innovation, is to build communities where people with disabilities can achieve their goals. As the premier Central Florida provider of comprehensive service offerings, the lives of thousands of children and adults with developmental disabilities, have been transformed for more than 50 years. The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation was founded in 1973. Since its creation, it has been enriched by the Richard J. Conlee Fund and the H. Clifford Lee Fund. To date, the Foundation has issued more than 3,500 grants to over 830 organizations, totaling upwards of $105 million. The Association of Fundraising Professionals International Chapter and Central Florida Chapter recently recognized the Foundation as their Outstanding Foundation of the Year.
