Backseat Saloon Acoustic Reunion

KEEGO HARBOR, Mich. - Feb. 25, 2016 - PRLog -- The Backseat Saloon was the place to go for great acoustic music for over three decades. It closed at the turn of the century and the Backseat Reunion Jams at Bachelor One Tavern, just around the corner from the site, features the musicians who performed in this legendary venue.

One of the key things that made the Backseat special was the vibe of the audience and the very cool stage that was always open to other musicians to sit in on any given night.

Mary McGuire and Ken Mitchell were the last musicians to play at the Backseat before the wrecking ball tore it down McGuire shares "The Backseat was the acoustic venue in the Detroit area for decades.  We were all so fortunate to play there over the years. All of the owners really were invested in ensuring that acoustic music was at the forefront of their offerings as a pub. The stage was small and the focal part of the room and that made for such an intimate environment. We could really connect with the audience. In fact, the audience was an integral part of the musical conversation; letting us know what they liked, requesting songs that perhaps we wouldn’t have thought of, which pushed us all to become better musicians. It was a really great musical environment."

Musicians are invited to sit in, all they have to do is bring a guitar, mandolin, banjo, voice, bongos --- whatever and keep the music and spirit of the Backseat going for generations to come.
