CHICAGO - March 3, 2016 - PRLog -- This conference is hosted by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance - Greater Chicago. The 17th Annual Symposium is designed for consumers of services, family, and friends of persons with mood disorders. For this year’s Symposium, the experts will explore various aspects of achieving and maintaining wellness. The speakers will also share their work in this field, both from scientific studies and interactions with patients & clients. Mental health professionals attending the event are eligible for six CEUs. We are pleased to present our speakers:

Beth Rom-Rymer, PhD  has a national consulting forensics practice specializing in sexual violence, sexual harassment and other trauma.

Nicole Ditchman, PhD  is an Assistant Professor in the Lewis College of Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology and concentrates in rehabilitation and mental health counseling.

Bret Bohlin is a Midwest Education and Outreach Consultant for DBSA’s national headquarters.

Ana Pruteanu, MS, RDN a registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist at Insight Behavioral Health Centers/ERC in Evanston.

Herbert Melzer, MD is Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern’s Feinberg School of Medicine.

John Gottlieb, MD is the Medical Director at Chicago Psychiatry Associates and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Feinberg School of Medicine.

Dr. Corey Goldstein is Assistant Professor of the TreatmentResearchCenter at RushUniversity Medical Center and a medical advisor to DBSA-GC. He will also moderate the Ask the Experts Q&A.

Date: Saturday, April 30, 2016

Time: 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Registration: $25 for students to $85 for a non-member family. Ticket prices increase $15 after April 15th.

Parking: Free in the hospital lot.

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance - Greater Chicago (DBSA-GC) is a 501(c)3 volunteer organization dedicated to bettering the lives of persons with mood disorders. The organization provides monthly, self-help support groups in seven locations across the Chicagoland area. In addition, they offer educational meetings and resources to services. They are the originators of DBSA, a national organization, with hundreds of affiliates across the U.S. and Canada. The mission of DBSA-GC is to help those individuals who are suffering from these illnesses and to improve their lives.
