Halton Region and Haltech Help Advance the Future of Technology Innovation in Halton

OAKVILLE, Ontario - April 4, 2016 - PRLog -- On June 2, 2016 at the Oakville Conference Centre, Halton Region and Haltech Regional Innovation Centre (Haltech) will co-host the inaugural Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit & Awards, a major event that will bring together the technology innovation and entrepreneur community to connect, collaborate and celebrate new technologies being developed right in Halton region.

"The Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit & Awards is an opportunity to engage with Halton's innovation and tech entrepreneur community, raise awareness of emerging technologies that will transform our world as we know it, and to celebrate our made-in-Halton innovations," says Rina Carlini, CEO & President of Haltech. "This event will also connect large corporations with innovators and entrepreneurs from high-growth startups and SMEs to enhance partnership opportunities and help drive innovation and business growth at the local and global levels."

The Summit agenda will focus discussion on 'Building our Connected Future', and highlight how IT, digital media, and advanced manufacturing technologies will drive the development of smart cities impacting communications, infrastructure, transportation and healthcare.

An exciting list of invited keynote speakers coming from large global corporations, high-growth startups and academic research directors will ignite the discussion with three sessions on current tech topics. Summit attendees will learn how advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming the industrial landscape with smart applications designed to build connected communities and enhance our quality of life.

Immediately following the Summit, Halton's excellence in technology innovation will be celebrated with the Halton FUTURES Innovation Awards presentation. These Awards are dedicated to recognizing the significant accomplishments of technology companies who have developed innovative and commercially successful products or services in the Halton region.
