River Expeditions Announces Dates For 2016 "Extreme College Weekends" Whitewater Rafting Speci

That's why they've decided to extend their popular Extreme College Weekends into 2016 to ensure that no whitewater starved college students will miss out. This exciting weekend is packed full of camping, BBQ, music, and of course, whitewater rafting - all for one low all inclusive price. This years dates are 4/9, 4/16, 4/23 and 4/30 - so there are plenty of chances to make sure you hit the water.

Spring is hands down one of the best times to visit the New River Gorge. Not only is it home to one of the largest Class V whitewater rivers in North America, but you also get all of the benefits of being in a nationally recognized and protected park. Although the springtime also brings higher water levels on many routes, there are a number of paths that are suitable for the new or nervous rafter - so no matter your level, there's a rafting trip for you.  River Expeditions outfits daily rafting trips down the New and Gauley Rivers from April until October. These trips can take place in a number of different vessels, ranging from full whitewater rafts, to smaller "duckies" - which provide an entirely unique perspective of the water. Trips generally span for about 5-7 hours, including a break for a waterside lunch. Being able to swim is helpful but not required, and many non-swimmers take to the water every year. River Expeditions provides all necessary safety equipment for the trip, a Coast Guard approved Type V life jacket, paddle, and helmet.
