'Atomic Style Lounge' Salon and Store Opens in the Famed Downtown Las Vegas Arts District

LAS VEGAS - April 8, 2016 - PRLog -- Atomic Style Lounge, a retro-themed beauty salon and store aimed at men and women, is celebrating its grand opening April 13, 2016, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the trendy downtown Las Vegas Arts District.  The evening will feature performances by local and L.A. based rockabilly and surf bands, gogo dancers, DJs, a food truck and a mix of iconic beers and wines.  The bands will perform on a permanent stage at the front of the store, where event nights are set to be held several times a month, including First Fridays.

         Atomic Style Lounge, located at 1237 S. Main St. in Downtown's "Antique Alley", is a full-service salon offering styling, makeup, and color for women, as well as clipper cuts and other services for men.  Mid-century antiques and collectibles from the 50s and 60s will be for sale in the salon's storefront, along with modern day items with a retro aesthetic.  A wide range of salon products by Bumble & Bumble as well as items from small batch companies known for their retro hair pomades in vintage-inspired tins complete the store's lineup.

         The salon has been planned for over two years by a group of founders from New York and other parts of the country who all share an obsession with mid-century culture and who chose Las Vegas for the salon's opening location because of the city's rat-pack era history and architectural heritage.

         To add some local know-how to the mix Tom Ingram head of the popular Viva Las Vegas rockabilly festival also came on board as a partner.

         "Vegas is the perfect location for our concept because mid-century culture is so big here - and people come from all over the world to be a part of it." said Ingram.  The launch party for the downtown salon takes place the night before the opening of the 4-day Viva festival, which has grown over its 19 years to 25,000 attendees, 65 bands, and a car show of over 600 classic cars.

         In creating a fun and entertaining experience for customers, stylists will be rocking vintage-themed attire ranging from flirty to vampy. A full-range of makeup services is also available for girls who are in town to party, while guys can enjoy clipper cuts and hot towel relaxation treatments.

         "We hope to make a visit to Atomic Style Lounge an item on the bucket list for people visiting town, whether they are a group of girls in town to club at Hakkasan, or a bridal party getting married at a wedding chapel," says Jennifer Hunter, one of the salon's partners.

         "It's really important to point out that the Atomic Style Lounge is not a novelty hair salon," Victor Cuevas, the salon's master stylist says.

         "Craft is very important to us. While our services are priced toward the premium end of the market, we also plan to have locals' nights and/or locals' discounts to make our services affordable for all Las Vegans.  Obviously we love to create and re-create retro looks, however the majority of our services are contemporary and fashion-forward."

         A unique element offered by Atomic Style Lounge are free shuttle rides from Strip casinos in their aquamarine 1960 Cadillac. The classic automobile will be available for bridal parties, bachelor parties, groups in town for clubbing, local hipsters and people simply interested in the retro/vintage culture of Las Vegas.

         "Our salon is all about creating an experience for our customers," Jennifer Hunter, continues, "we have a substantial lounge area complete with space age-era music and video. The entire atmosphere will have an edgy, classic Sin City-themed sexiness to it."
